Today was the final day of the contemporary studio with Rajat and the artisans. Thankfully there were plenty of artisans again today so my second design was completed in the morning. This design was finished very quickly as it was primarily the beading to be finished. I am pleased with how this design came together and the final outcome. I feel it is very translatable onto a garment and would love to see it on a very simple 20’s style shift dress with a sheer and matte layering effect. The layering of fabric would also help to eliminate the previously mentioned construction issue of visible threads on the sheer base fabric. I may have to attempt a small personal project with this same design on a matte fabric perhaps without the pleated shell for comparison.

Final contemporary embroidery, unfortunately I did not get a photo of it on the loom so the gradient of beads isn’t as visible
